Presentation to a Joint Hearing of the California State Assembly and Senate Education Committees
On February 27, 2002, the American Sports Institute made what is believed to be the first-ever presentation to an American state or national legislative committee regarding the principles and practices of sport culture, physical activity, and wellness being the foundation for transforming America’s public-school system.
Presented at a joint informational hearing to education committee members of both the California State Assembly and the California State Senate at the State Capitol in Sacramento, American Sports Institute staff; research and social-theory experts from around the country; and school administrators, teachers, and students who have been involved in several of the Institute’s educational programs made presentations.
